Helen, my dear friend from work, showed me an excellent site for learning languages. It has videos, subtitles, translations in French and English... and games to play that test vocab and comprehension. Very very good... take a look!

The new-favorite-French word of the day is "un saucisson!" A sausage. My mom is probably rolling her eyes at the moment...opet o hrani!

The adventure begins soon... exactly a month away!

But the pre-departure paperwork, visas, packing, etc etc need to get done.
This blog is meant to keep track of the journey, inform friends and family of my whereabouts and what I'm up to, and for any fellow travelers or people who want to tag along.

Currently, I am sitting in front of the computer at work with a French/English dictionary plopped in front of me. The orange flower on its cover glares at me... and winks. It seems to be taunting me. It is friendly in appearance and gently masks the enormous task ahead... learning French.
